Thanks for the confirmation Lizzisnow .. what a nightmare ..

Just out of interest ... if the pound was stronger against the euro .. do you think you would go back to one of the european resorts everytime now you have had a taste of it?

Hi again Funski
Well ... we would go back to LDA because, as I said, the skiing conditions were fantastic, and more or less guaranteed for December. In fact, we've already decided to book for over next New Year.
I'd be reluctant to give up on Bulgaria completely though. It's a very warm, friendly place - and the night life is a lot better than LDA. We've been to Pamps every Feb half term since 2004 and have always had a fantastic holiday. The skiers we met in LDA took themselves VERY ...

We've been to Pamps every Feb half term since 2004 and have always had a fantastic holiday. The skiers we met in LDA took themselves VERY seriously - everyone seemed very driven to be the very best. You don't get that in Pamps - at least not generally. Everything's a lot more relaxed and we always have a good laugh.

Hi,

My wife and I went to Pamps last feb, the exchange rate was 2.61 levs to 1 GBP.

i now see its in the region of 1.95 levs to 1 GBP.

Is anyone out there at the moment, i cant remember how much stuff cost, i do remember it being very cheap last year.

how much for example is a pint or equiv of larger, are we still talking around 2 levs?

how much are is the ski hire, and daily lift passes?

I think i remember a single bus ticket from Sofia to the resort (castle apartments) being around 19 levs as well...

i know its dirt cheap compared to the rest of Europe, but its still gutting the way the lev has fallen...!

re: Currency Nightmare

Ian

Lift pass prices are the same as last year, or only a couple of lv more - depending on the pass.

The bus from Pamporovo to Sofia is now 20lv,

As for beers / food etc - depends where you go

hope that helps
