i say delete jason cumberland. it shows what this site is . pro bulgaria . i accept that is what the site is all about , but there is a thread called skiing . i believe you get a fair deal on the eating and drinking and yes you can get a good deal in the ski. i have been twice now in jan, and have yet to experience it becuase the conditions havent allowed it . all i have been is imformative . i would never say, never go to bulgaria if this is your budget
Jason,
Please accept my appolgies.
The last three years in early January have been poor skiing conditions, I always advise 3rd week in Jan onwards. Unfortunately it appears you copped a bum week. I'll be going Jan 28th next year so if you want a good week see yaa there.
noooo. not again for me . i think (me brains of britian nooo) i can do it just the same cost anywhere else. i pack lunch up the mountain anyway . but have to do it self catering. at least i wont be eating roadkill in a stew. it wasnt a bum week just felt it was boardering on the dangerous side . it was a learning week, in how to cope in poor conditions but my young son was losing confidence in his ski ability. i spent all last week convincing him it wasnt his fault
jason got a bee in his bonnet , in my opinion not enough to ban him , we could tie him up and beat him , but i think he may like that ..... hes main problems are lack of snow , and hes a skier
agree, he is a scorned skier!!!
you pay money out you want snow but lets face it the snow is not there and it happened to be the same in france last year where it was late in the season....
there are only a few resorts that you will get gauranteed snow in January and most of them are not in europe LOL
Freedom to Jason Cumberland!!!!
with your new found freedom can you write and complain about the poor food to the hotel to which you ate at or your holiday company so they may do ...

Jason, I have been very fortunate to have skied pretty much all over the globe and there are some remarkable skiing to be had. However, last year in Canada of all places proved the disappointment of my skiing experiences because of, guess what......lack of snow. And yes, I have been to Bulgaria when the skiing has been poor at best. A couple of things.....if you are going to have little snow it is better not to have paid a premium for it as I did last year and If you are LUCKY enough to ...

Good luck next time!!
What irked me about Jasons post was the sweeping statement that the skiing is crap, and the food was all slop unfit for his dog.
If he had at the outset expanded and provided information regarding his dissatisfaction then at least that would have informed others. If someone has complaint, or has had a poor holiday and then explains why, that is beneficial and serves a purpose. To simply moan achieves nothing.
As for banning ? Nooooo, everyone is entitled to an opinion, and if providing ...

Anyway, even the bbc world weather is predicting snow throughout the Balkans this week, hopefully one less reason for complaint

I agree with Judge when he says
'if you are going to have little snow it is better not to have paid a premium for it'.
I also think that a Bulgarian Ski resort isn't a bad place to be 'stuck' without snow. I feel that there is a lot more culture and tradition to soak up than in many other countries, and if you bother to look you can find plenty to do to entertain yourself if skiing isn't possible. Apart from beautiful villages and lovely people, many hotels offer swimming, bowling, beauty treatments much cheaper than home. As for the food, The fact that there is no British food or McDonalds is a real plus for some of us. I love to try local dishes (hit or miss) it's part of the fun of the holiday and I am often really impressed. (How about The daily Bulgarian specials in Markony, lovely grub at only 5 lev!!!!!). Yes, we do all go to ski, but instead of getting angry and frustrated about lack of snow and the money you have wasted try to enjoy your time in Bulgaria and make the most of it.
