Dont let us down bulgaria!

In a similar theme to other threads here, i think that Bulgarian ski resorts, and beach resorts have a fantastic opportunity over the next few years to benefit from the economic downturn!!

Most brits' idea of a good holiday is cheap food, cheap booze, good fun and some good sliding or sunbathing!

The euro is a no no , and after spending time in portugal and the alps already this year i will be staying away until it sorts itself out!!!

The euro is a no no , and after spending time in portugal and the alps already this year i will be staying away until it sorts itself out!!!

The way i see it, if the bulgarians keep prices low, and ensure money is put back into the resorts to keep the pistes in good condition and manage what snow they have to the best effect, they could really do well this year! same goes for the beach resorts!

If they dont, and bad feedback continues, then visitors will stop coming, money will dry up and who knows what will happen!

i would LOVE to see bulgaria keep its integrity, and not become a money snatching bitch of a destination!!

there are plenty of mountains with much better snow than all the bulgarian resorts... dont lose your charm, dont lose your identity, keep it affordable and prosper!

Its still very reasonable compared to many other European ski resorts, after New Year we went out with friends who had been to Austrian, they were having to pay £6 for a coke up the mountain and lunch with drinks for 3 people was costing around £100, at least in Bulgaria its only £3 for coke at the very top and alot cheaper in resort.

re: Dont let us down bulgaria!

Yes its cheap, but another winter like this, and people will go somewhere else where they have snow next year. From norway its allready a problem filling up the planes for the summer cause of all the problems tourists had last year.
I will go back, but if they dont soon understand that we have demands, even if its cheap, then I will find myself a new destination both winter and summer.

re: Dont let us down bulgaria!

THe main issue is SNOW and pistes, it always is!
if mother nature provides the goods then the resort MUST make the most of it!!, when theres not so much snow they must make the best of it!

People will tolerate expense and some of the other problems if the skiing and boarding is good! if not then no one will bother!

i loved my time in bulgaria..both skiing in borovets and the 3 times i have been to the beaches..

i hope the country keeps its integrity amidst all the tourists and ...

Have has a couple of decent years in BG, however the weather is very hit and miss compared to other European resorts and i agree that it no longer the cheap holiday it once was, i for one will look to France Italy etc from now on because of the reliable snow falls

"People will tolerate expense and some of the other problems if the skiing and boarding is good!"

The opposite is good enough for some people aswell:

"People will tolerate poor conditions and some of the other problems if the holiday is cheap"

There was guy called 'Jonah' who had difficulty accepting this. I doubt he's posted again with the same user name Wink

DontTrustTheCam, Actually it was a problem for him, I told his ego couldn't take the fact people were ignoring his posts. He would butt into threads with childish 'I told you so' sentiments.

He posted a confrontational post asking what the Iglika hotel was really like. He wanted an answer from a genuine tourist. As a genuine tourist I posted a reply for him and he didn't respond. I even asked him again in another post if he had read my reply. No answer. Funny thing is in my reply to ...

Surprisingly your post 'DontTrustTheCam', mentioned the same thing. coincidence?

Also surprising is how you wrote:

"Seems he didnt need to accept your views either as they wernt an issue to him "

how do you know they weren't an issue for him? Do you know him? Are you 'Jonah' posting as 'DontThrustTheCam'? You come back to get your own back on me. Sad.
