Double Standards

In response to 'Interested's post about the adult bars and the replies he recived regading the fact that children might be on here. Surely his question was no worse than many of the hundreds of posts on here regarding the price of drinks, the cost of cigarettes and how many can be brought back throrugh customs. It appears that some people dont mind advertising drinking and smoking in places where children may be despite the obvious health risks.

The way i see it...if a kid knows what Interested was on about, then surely they will be aware of such places once they are in resort...in that case maybe it is not the place for them to be taking their children if they feel they need sheltering from such stuff?

Good point but people are concern about what there children can read which you can't blame them for and I'm sure nobody has a problem talking about adult bars but maybe after the same watershed as the TV ie after 8pm.

When you go through an airport during the day you can see alcohol and cigs everywhere but you don't see strippers and adult bars.

Guess you're right. This seems to be a bit of a dodgey subject. Don't think I really won't to be involved in.

just because a message is posetd on here after 8, doesnt mean it cant be viewed the next moring. As to alcohol and cigarettes being advertised everywhere, what about things such as page 3? do these same people all ban their kids from watching reading tabloids? how about watching tv?
Im not saying that you should allow kids to view everything as an adult but at least dont promote and brag about all the drinks you plan on having. Whose the irresponsable one then?

I think this is all getting a bit out of hand. Having a few drinks is part of the holiday for most people. As for the adult bars I presume Pamps Pete thought the posting was OK to go out. I doubt young kids would understand the true meaning anyway.

Don't get be wrong, I've no kids, don't smoke and I'm not a absolute beer monster. I just take the attitude if somone asks nicly to tone it down, it's not to much of a problem to do so.
