Drinking

For a bit of fun……..

Some of us may have thought about the 24 hour ‘drink a thon’ i.e. where can you get a 24 hour beer in the UK working with our out of date drinking laws i.e. 11 pm closing.

In London this works….11am normal pub to11pm then off to a west end club to 6am then down to Smithfields meat market where the pubs open at 6am to 11am to cater for the market workers. After that back into your normal pub again.

Anyone else know anywhere……….

re: Drinking

Weatherspoons at the railway station in Leeds has just applied for a 24hr licence and sounds like they are going to get it.
I was in a meeting last night with some local councilors who told me that if a pub applies for a 24 licence, an add goes in the local paper and if there are no objcetions they will be granted.

re: Drinking

Loads of pubs etc all over the country will soon be applying for 24 hour licences - so it won't be long now before we are all saved!!!!!!!!
The new laws came into effect on 7 Feb this year.

re: Drinking

Thing is few people have unlimited cash so I don't know if this will work for the average pub who will have to increase staff etc.

My locals are small country pubs who will not be applying for 24 hr licences.

I personally think it will only really work in the big towns and cities

re: Drinking

I thik I'm correct in saying that not one pub has applied for a 24hr licence yet..... and thank god. I'm 32 love a drink, done some stupid things in my past many of which would have me arrested, however, I don't want to walk down my high street in Surrey and have drunken fools throwing up at 10:30 am..... its just not on!!

Jazz........ Wink
