Now that BG is in the EU their allowances are the same as many other European destinations. BUT I do apologise as I should have said 200 fags as that is the only discrepancy.

Sorry guys but you are wrong if you think that you are able to buy Duty free Ciggies and booze to bring back to the uk.
At the airport on Saturday there were signs over every brand saying "Non EU Countries only" we were stopped from buying ANY THING that was not Local.
So no matter what the government or European sites say...You ain't buying anything but Local brands from Sofia Airport. Personal or anyother reason.

came back last week was able to buy 200 superkings and a bottle of whiskey only trouble was it was all marked up in euro's so got quite confusing

the only place i found lambert and butler last week was in the Samakov hotel supermarket

i was only buying them in packs of 20 at a time tho and they were 5lev each.

Buy them before you go, at least you will know they are genuine. you get the V.A.T off if you buy at airport. just remember the Quota you are allowed. ttony
