I have this exact issue every year, when you get to the check in; if they see the boot bag they will try and make you check it in as extra luggage to the hold. The Easyjet terms and conditions make no mention of a boot bag being classed as ski luggage and they are not listed as an item not acceptable as hand luggage so I always argue the case with them.

So far, to date, I have got away with taking them as hand luggage but you may have to back down and pay for them to go in the hold if Easyjet kick up a fuss, although personally I would refuse to pay unless they can show you where in the Terms and Conditions it says they can't be taken as hand luggage!
As for putting them in my suit case, there's not a chance they would fit in!!
Have had a few battles with EasyJet over carriage of sports equipment. They quote something different with every employee you speak to.
Most airlines don't like boots in overhead lockers as they say they are dangerous if they fall out on someone's head They may have a point there but if you have a decent size hold bag they don't ask to see inside only look to see that it is light enough for you to carry.
We took boot bags last year and didn't take our ski's. We were not charged extra for taking them but we were within our total luggage allowance as there were 5 of us travelling (we took 3 suitcases including one for the orphanage and two boot bags)
This year we took 4 sets of ski's and 4 sets of boots, plus 3 suitcases and only paid for 2 sets of ski carriage. No complaints from me for Easy Jet. Love the fact they show movies now too!
We have a ski bag with lockable boot compartments either end that we got from Ski Club of GB. We stuff boots with socks etc and pack around them and have never been asked about it. Only problem is that is it can get heavy so our other bags are ones with wheels. We usually carry 4 pairs of ski boots between us which go in the hold so have never had to pay extra.
Hi,
I phoned easy jet yesterday as we are travelling Manchester-Sofia. I was told ski boot bags will be charged extra. We are only going for a long weekend so will just put them in the suitcase.
