Excahnge rate in bansko

Could anyone presently in resort please let me no the average exchange rate please,

hi snowboard...if you can bring cash to Bansko and exchange at one of the banks in the centre....these will give you the best rates like what Pete is quoting...do not us ethe booths around the gondola

Is it better to use the booths and chance cash or loaad up a card at home and use the cash machines in town?

As Martin has stated - avoid using the booths unless they display the Crown insignia. Others will rip you off no matter what rate they 'pretend' to offer. Crown is state owned and these are OK - but I would recommend either of your other 2 options. We always take sterling and change it at reception.

Go to the Alpha bank in the square. Always gives best rates here in Bansko.
Or use the cash machines though your banks will charge you for being oversea's.

Do not go to the kiosks. There are banks near the top of town too which will give better rates than booths but alpha bank is the best.

Pete.... in my experience Hotels do not give good rates but maybe better than the kiosks??

Always get a good rate in Pamps Steve - and those that give fractionally less - you're only talking about a very few pence.

Thanx for your reply's, very helpful,i tend to always take cash to Bulgaria and change it out there,ive been to borovets 5 times and we are having our first visit to bansko on the 5th of march :0)
