Just wondering what exercise everyone is doing lead up
to there ski hols? or do you tend to be a bit of a couch
potate like myself!! No seriosuly only four weeks to go
and have gone from practically nothing now to 3 boosts of energy a week mainly walking/running and a boxercise
class!
All in all would I be right in saying the fitter you are the
more fun you have - for skiing that is?
I started today with hand, eye and mouth co-ordination as ate ate my 1st Cadbury cream egg in 18 months I take a regular fitness class with the children at the institute, as it is so cold we do lots of running about and dancing too x
Sam it is the truth, it was my 1st, however i have to admit that i am a very bad girl and the 1st was followed by a 2nd, it is naughty i know, but the reality is that it was so nice, i will do extra exersize tomorrow to make up for it x
The experts reckon that, for the recreational skier, if you don't do any exercise in the build up to your ski holiday then the least you should do is 15-20min of intensive stretching every day so that all the leg muscles, tendons and ligaments are stretched as much as possible. This will greatly minimise the risk of injury.
Exercises need not be anything too hectice - just a few static strengthening exercices of the main leg muscles will help a lot.
