Hello! Good forum, hoping someone could answer a few random questions I've got about Borovets before I book! I've found a great deal flying out on 1st March staying at the Villa Park. The hotel looks nice enough but how far would we have to walk to get to the main ski area for beginners?

It's not a package holiday its basically flights and hotel so doesn't include transfers, how much would it cost for us to get from Sofia to Borovets roughly? And lastly, there's no option to puchase a 'ski pack' so I'm thinking I would need to purchase this in the resort although I'd much rather do it before we go so we are prepared.....
Any advice? I know these are pretty random questions as it will be our first time skiing, I think what I basically need to know is whether its easier to pay more and buy the holiday as a package so we get everything included?
Villa Park is about 200 m from the gondola and around a further 50 + m to the beginner slopes outside the Rila so not in the thick of it all - depends if you want peace and quiet at the end of the day. I think there may be a shuttle bus.
There are links on this site that can give you some prices or search for FIONA, click on her name and send her an email, she may be able to help you.
As a rough guide

£120 return transfer per car
Some tour companies have been offering free lift passes eg Balkan, so I'd price up a few to make a comparison. By the time you add in the extras it may not seem such a good deal.
As you say it's your first visit to Boro, it may give you peace of mind to have the services of reps to show you the ropes, if there's not much difference in the overall costs.
andrew villa park about 200 mtrs from gondala and only 100 mtrs to bars such as happy duck sunnys and harp bar .. the villa will not have a shuttle bus as it is to close to center ...
I noticed that most flights go out to Boro each week on a Saturday, but this flight with Bulgaria Air goes on 1st March so Sunday, and our first day skiing would be Monday. Does that mean if we book a ski pack we will be joining the group late after the others have had a couple of days on the slopes already? Or are there new people joining and leaving every day..?
Are you going from Gatwick as there's always a flight from there on a Sunday. You will be treated as different groups from those who arrive on a Saturday and will all start lessons on the Monday with others who will have arrived Sunday.
Have a read through previous threads for advice on restaurants etc to try and have a great time
Great borogirl! Anyway I decided to book it as a package and just stay in the Rila and pay the extra but could not process it through online, when I called up they have sold out of all flights from Manchester on the 28th
So looks like I'll have to do them seperately afterall..flights and a hotel (Villa Park) and book ski packs through somewhere else.. Hunters ski school looks good (thanks snowsy). How much can you arrange them for stoyan?? We are beginners as we haven't been on a ...

Hi there,
Have you checked out offers with Balken?
By the time you have added all the extras to your basic acc/flight costs it may be more expensive than you anticipated.
See comments on other posts about offers on Ski packs!
Hope this helps
