Firemen and goal posts

So if anyone can give me info on the type and size of training posts which will be suitable for the children I would be really pleased. So, let's keep our fingers crossed that we can make Doug and the children happy bunnies. Very Happy

I have asked for portable mini soccer goals in my 'begging'letters, which are a good size at 8' x 6' and retail at around £85 per goal. Samba seem to be the most popular brand amongst local teams.

I wrote to Tottenham this morning, as they have Berbatov at the club and guesss what was on the midday news Question It looks like he will be leaving at the end of the season Exclamation Exclamation :' (So they may not be so interested in Bulgaria).

I have also contacted all my local professional/ semi pro and youth clubs. I also contacted Leicester City (thought the press opportunities with the Fire Brigade would make a good story).

Just need to wait to see what comes back

I will contact Samba and ask for a quote/donation. Exclamation

re: Firemen and goal posts

Hiya not sure if this helps but I run a footie team and we use samba mini goals. We use the 12 x 6 goals and collapsed in carry bag they measure roughly 1ft square by approx 4ft long. I would assume the 8 x 6 will be a bit smaller but most clubs use 12 x 6 as these are the smallest match size goals so if asking for donations you might find you end up with this size. If you are looking at buying with donated funds there are some really good deals on ebay ...thats where I get mine from. Buying ...

Buying direct from samba is the most expensive way to get them although if they donate them that would not be the case.

re: Firemen and goal posts

Andie,

I got some for my son at xmas, very reasonable from
Argos, they came in a flat (ish) box, just means that
someone would have to put them up.
i think they were about £15
regards

Paul

Thanks for your idea. We are trying to get the professional goals as they are very robust and more likely to last with 70 + children using them. Very Happy

re: Firemen and goal posts

BG - we must keep our eye on the size tho as if they are too big we might not be able to get the LFRS to take them. I liked the sond of the ones that Dona was talking about ""We use the 12 x 6 goals and collapsed in carry bag they measure roughly 1ft square by approx 4ft long. " they sound just about right. The job is finding them at the right price or even getting them donated - wishful thinking Crying
