Staropramen is czech. Weather is absolutely perfect today. Blue skies & hopfully the snow from yesterday has helped to clear the very slushy snow we were on yesterday.

BJs Bar is on the corner of the Samokov & the Gondola ... what used to be Peter Popangelov's bar. It's done out like an Austrian apres-ski bar with wood panelling. Can't miss it at night either thanks to the super bright red neon signs ...

ya. the new BJs bar has been nicely decorated inside. The red neon lights are a bit excessive though. Other than that is seems quite tasteful. Haven't tried it yet but will soon.

Sorry to complain but as Peter Popangelov is a good friend of us I must say that ( former )Peter's Bar between the Gondola and the Samokov Hotel doesn't have anything to do with Peter Popangelov. He never had a bar , just his cozy little hotel with a restaurant near the Rila Hotel. We still have to wait for 5 weeks before going to Borovets at Popangelov's hotel.
A merry Christmas to you all from Berlin.

I have to agree with Roland- it was called Peter's Bar, but no connection to the hotel...

Also whilst it is beautiful blue skies, the snow is melting fast and hasn't helped clear up yesterday's 'slush'. Marky 1 etc (top of gondola) is closed due to quite a number of rocks and stones. Yastrebets side is kind of ok due to the snow cannons working full time although more snow is needed desperately.
