Learnt to ski aged 49 (should have done it years ago). Took our 2 year old granddaughter to Xscape today - first time she's seen snow! She loved it 'my do that' and we have resolved to make sure she learns to ski before she starts school. A future convert ...
We went into the cafe that overlooks the slope and she was pretending to ski (on her bottom) across the window sill. Grandad ignored the sign saying 'riders only past his point' and took her onto the snow. We had to drag her away using bribery! Our daughter thinks we were shopping!
best time to learn we saw a baby on the slopes in bansko, I kid not cant have been much older than a year his dad was taking him up a small hill then runing down and catching him at the bottom, no wonder the little gits ski past you like a pro
I think it's something everyone should experience - like I said, I was 49 and wish I'd have learnt years ago (I was and still am pretty nervous). You can't explain to a non-skier how fantastic it is. I remember skiing down a blue run laughing all the time - it was so brilliant! Our kids think we're mad (and very reckless) - but we don't care.
Standards mean nothing Lizz. As long as you enjoy it, who cares whether you are Olympic standard or not!
There was a time when we all thought we could take on the world and beat them. But as we grow older we realise that it ain't all about winning - it's all about having a larf
How true Pete. Sometimes my kids seem older than me! If there's one thing I've learnt it that life is what you make it ... and we're making sure we get the most from it! My hubby wants to learn boarding next!
