First time in Bulgaria ski, where to go?

re: First time in Bulgaria ski, where to go?

I went there as a total novice this April08 4 of us, slopes deserted. Started on the nursery slopes could have stayed there all week if need be. Its really pleasant.

Like anywhere food & drink up the mountain is more than down the mountain - hence my ski instructor took a couple of 3ltr bottles of Pirinski in his ruck sack - really nice to have a drink on the chair lifts.

Will be back in 09 for more skiing, also will be out there in oct or Nov for a long weekend.

Mikey, you seem to have set yourself up as the saviour of our souls and are intent on saving us from ourselves. You have posted many relevant posts, imformative and obviously well researched...But...
Your continual dismissal of posts and posters alike harps of something a lot more sinister and frankly, a little worrying, do you have something else in your life ?? do you need to talk to someone ??
Or perhaps you have a hidden agenda, do you have a hidden agenda Mikey ?? do you ??

Lievin, I'd recommend Bansko for a family holiday. I've been twice with my family, and we all had a good time. Stayed at Hotel Perun, which has good swimming pools and saunas.

I haven't been to Bovorets, but I met a family at the airport who said it was really a place for single people, and there were lots of things going on they felt weren't appropriate for their kids.

Stoo, thank you for helping me. Do you have to wait longtime at the gondola? The traveloffice could not give me an answer...maybe you can?

Very good choice we stayed there feb 2007. 10 minute walk to gondola or they have 2 hotel mini buses running from 0800hrs until 1800hrs.

With regards to queing times on the gondola. It all depends what time you want to start get there for 0800hrs no problem any later then the ques begin to build up, then you have to be very very very very very very very very very very patient Crying Crying Crying Crying Crying Crying Crying

hwyl

S.P. If it's worth queing for it's worth the wait. Wink
