First time in Bulgaria ski, where to go?

This is my first time going to Bulgaria skiing.

I'm an intermediate skiier but my wife is a beginner.

Was looking at going to Bansko and found a very nice apartment but the owner said there are only 14 pistes, having been to Mayrhofen and Sol who have many more pistes, I may get bored!

Anyway just want to know which resort would be best to go to in mid January.
Thanks
Dan

Well Bansko is the largest of the 3 resorts and if you are an Intermediate skier there should be enough to keep you happy. Also a great place to learn for the wife.

You would certainly find Pamporovo to small but it is better for learners ie the keeping wife happy. Borovets may suit you if you after the party life and if you speek to the right people there are enough runs to keep you happy.

Bansko it is, I definitley fancy the bigger of the 3 resorts!

Party life while it would be nice, don't want to be doing too much of that otherwise I won't be getting up in the mornings!

Anyone had any experience of hotel Ida?
Thanks

its on the approach into Bansko called 1932 and you must try the meat table or the Kebab on a SWORD but you must book in advance.
I will be going again at the end of September. If you do decide to book a hotel just make sure they have Gas Central Heating cos it gets cold...

The snowfall was deeper than all the alps. That is simply impossible and untrue as Chamonix had 570cm of snow this season, the most for any Northern Hemisphere resort and about 3 times the amount of Bansko. What is it with these lies, i don't understand

Beg your pardon, chamonix had 640cm of snow by the end of the season, well over three times the amount in Bansko. Why lie to potential new visitors?

Have an affordable holiday in chamonix this season. Don't worry, there'll be plenty of snow to eat and you can melt some if you need a drink. Unfortunately you'll have to stay in a tent and thumb a lift to and from the airport. You'll still end up paying more than in Bansko but don't worry cause you'll have an extra 2 metres of snow pack beneath your skis to make your cold hunger and thirst stricken holiday worth while.

Ah someone had to bite. Simply pointed out a blatent lie to a potential new visitor but it hit a nerve. To some people, things like snow depth and snow history matters. For that reason i thought i would let that person know the truth, im sorry in doing so that i have offended you, pathetic!
