Can you please state how much you paid for a beer cheapest and most expensive + average. Ditto food price for a starter & main.

Only 10 sleeps for me I just hope there will be more snow & it stays nice and cold!

re: First time in bansko - AMAZING!!!!

Thats my experiance on the beers some people on this forum have posted that a beer is costing them £2.50-3... and a Mars bar cost one person £4!

Now Ive not experianced any such prices in many different resteraunts & corner shops or the supermarket just wondering if those who have paid such high prices can state which bar/resteraunt they were charged I will then go there myself 10 sleeps left and take a photo of the menu.

I dont mind bashing somewhere however just basing it on what is ...

I did reply to his post stating that you knew the price before you bought so you must have literally been starving hungry then h mentioned having kids... to which I responded say you had 2 kids with their mates and your getting them all Mars bars cost £20 would you seriously pay the man or hand them back saying no thanks? He didnt reply!!!

Also was in Bansko for the first time last week. It was absolutely brilliant - everyone really friendly and food and drink really cheap.

However there is one thing I would suggest people who are going look out for - on to occasions we found that waiters claimed that prices of wine on the menu were 'old prices' and hiked them up by another 4-5 lev which isn't a lot of money it was more the principle of the thing - one price for Bulgarian and one for English and all that.

One waiter in a restaurant near to the town square even said to us 'What would you pay in England for this?' to which I gently pointed out that we were not in England so this was not really the point. Needless to say we left that place sharpish.

However this was not representative of all the restaurants by any means and we may have just been unlucky.

Other than that = enjoy all the snow that fell last week!
Very Happy

re: First time in bansko - AMAZING!!!!

when you ask for a chocolate bar, do you ask the price first? No, you just assume its going to be cheap. Only when you get the bill at the end of your meal do you discover the truth - a bit late to give it back methinks.

re: First time in bansko - AMAZING!!!!

there are a couple of places where beer is £2, usually 2 to 2.50 lev which is around a pund or less, buy you chocolate in the supermarkets, cheap there. Prices have gone up on the slopes and people who have been going for a few years have really noticed it.

re: First time in bansko - AMAZING!!!!

Bansko hasn't seen the price rises of boro. As for prices on the mountain had pizza for lunch most days. Worked out less then £2.50 and a half litre of good quality bulgarian larger for 5 lev or about £2.00. It's a lot cheeper in the villiage but food and drink on the mountain is hardly a ripoff. There seems to be a trend with regard to tarring all bulgarian resorts with the same brush when it comes to the negatives.
