Pretty specific depending upon many things - this scale - otherwise known as the Deutsche Industrie Norm - is standardised across all makes of bindings. The appropriate setting depends on your weight, boot size, height and level of skiing. Any injuries should also be taken into account.
Front and rear bindings tend to be set on the same number and both skis are usually set the same. Injuries may affect these.

This may help, if not, sorry...

We were there last week and I totally agree with BJW... I have been skiing before and was shocked at the non interest in health & safety and just asked shoe size and handed us the skis.. mind you on the first day i got the wrong size given to me and did not even check until after a day skiing... Like BJW we had a terrible angry instructor on the first day and alot of people in the group complained as they had all levels split in the same group... Ours got changed and we got Andre who was ...

Like BJW we had a terrible angry instructor on the first day and alot of people in the group complained as they had all levels split in the same group... Ours got changed and we got Andre who was excellent and thought us loads and was so helpful when one of our group broke her arm... He was excellent.
In general the standard of instructors is not great and the ski hire of equipment apalling.. Wehen we went last year we were weighed and height and skiis adjusted accordingly...

Talking about ski boots, blooing hard things to walk in.

The medical care was ok for my son, his leg was isolated in a blow up leg brace for the journey to the medical centre by skidoo!. The medical centre was a bit basic but when at UK hospital on return here the doc thought they had done a good job in rotating and reducing the break, so apart from change of cast nothing further was needed.

Hi BJWS
you can take to the cleaners the companies which arranged the sorting out of boots, skis and details-age,weight height etc.this standard should be observed -it is the rule-safety rules.if you provide ski hardware in a ski place -you are responsible .did you sign papers when given skis with DIN clearly writen somewhere.Talk to your travel insurers-they will take the claim further.ski instructors as well have a duty for the weelbeing of the clients.did you say 20 in one group? that is ...

for SEANY-boot should be the same size you are wearing .measure the lenght of feet from heel to toe in mm.take this with you.If say the number comes as 230-this is the MONdo size you should look for in the resort or close to that providing the boots feel snug .always put them on when warm.dont overtight then only when actually going down .play with the clips all the time.dont leave them at one setting all day.the closer the fit the better the control will be providing comford is OK.After the boots take measure of your weight height but in CM not inches.take then with you-you should be asked for this measures before clipping the skis .
SHEANY here are the instructions for adjusting the bindings on the skis according your abilities:I will place a link for the chart at the end)

print this take it with you and have fun on the slopes.

re: First timers review of Pamps

Agree about the taxis they were an absoloute rip off and its the one thing that would put me off going back. The hotel I was in had no shuttle bus so it cost us 20lev each way to the ski station and the same again to get into town at night and back. This was probably just over £20 pounds a day and when you consider it was only 5 minute journeys I think very much over the top. So they might not be getting my money in future years.

re: First timers review of Pamps

At is good that you made the best of your holiday.
As for DIN settings, I too am always concerned about this however on each ocassion that we have been to Pamps, our instructor has always chewcked and adjusted everyones bindings before we have skied off. maybe it is down to the individual instructor. Group sizes always tend to be large at half terms, last year my daughter found herslef in a group of 30 after the midday test and ended up loosing her group. Fortunately she is an advanced ...

Group sizes always tend to be large at half terms, last year my daughter found herslef in a group of 30 after the midday test and ended up loosing her group. Fortunately she is an advanced skier and had been to Pamps before so was able to find her way dowm alone...........not an ideal situation., she skied the rest of the week with friends. This year when things were looking to go the same way with 25 in the group, I spoke to the rep who sorted out more instructors for the second day.
