Hi, my son and I only took up snowboarding last year and we will be coming to Borovets on 7th January for our first trip abroad, stopping at the Lion hotel. Any tips would be welcome.Are we likely to see plenty of snow?
Where is the best place for the apre-ski?

best place to eat at top of mountain -White House - great prices, fab HUGE log burner and free use of comfort facilities or to the blokes free loo - best place at the bottom of the slopes try Bobby's Bar same warm welcome as you will have received at the White House. Hey what do i know? will be out there 21st- 30th Dec for our 7th visit and will be out again 24th Feb - 5th Mar. I know where i'll be spending xmas eve and xmas day - White House/Bobby Bar and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. ...

HiThanks for the reply, any other things we should see / visit? We will definatly check out the places you have reccomended! Any ideas on snow coverage that week and how busy it is likely to be?

I've been out to Borovets twice and i can tell you in for a great time!!Stayed in Lion Hotel the first time i went, really nice hotel just a little out of the main resort but they offer a shuttle bus back and forth from the hotel to slopes every day.
Taxi home didn't cost much each night...it's a bit far to stagger home especially in the snow!

ITS JUST AWESOME, LOADS OF BARS GREAT PEOPLE YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME.Just keep your eyes on the cams and Kas's updates usually each day on here, she is in resort so you get the truth, dont believe snow reporting websites as they tend to lie.
There are quite a few cannons now as well so if conditions arent brill and its cold enough they will provide enough to ski on.

So Kieran and GarethI'm out to Bulgaria on New Years Eve and in the last years snow is with me, so we will arrive finally in Samokov, the next town to Borovez even at the 7.january in the evening, so latest at the 8. morning snoiw should be fallen and anything will be withe.
So may be see you and some more for a forum meet in Borovez
