Hi Tanjette,
We are going to Pamps for the third time. I havent experienced another resort before so I cant compare. My idea is that if you are going skiing all you need is snow, equipment, hotels and bars. Pamporovo has all this. And its half the price of some European resorts (till now). Bring on January. Going to Pamps on 26.01.06 for 1 week.
Tanjette,
reasons for returning
1 the money, borovets and i guess the other resorts are getting more and more expensive every time i go but they are still good value for money.
2 the ski area, not too challenging( good for me at my age!)
3 The company of others, people weve met and kept in touch with, the resort staff and reps are very good.
4 the nightlife ,plenty of good night life, altho these days im quite content with a sauna/swim then dinner and a couple of beers,

6 hotels, no reason to return, however stayed in the samokov and rila both clean, tidy but basic.

Tanny - why have I now been to Bulgaria 3 times...
Well, the instructors have the patience of a saint, the food and drink is cheap and the atmosphere there is great.
Looking forwards to 2006/7 season (now that the Inghams brochure is on line) I'm comparing prices with other resorts and it actually works out cheaper at the start to go to Andorra or Italy than Bulgaria so they need to think about the value for money aspect again.
For me it's the value for money of the all round package. In terms of piste variety (and to some extent preparation) it doesn't compare to Austria, France, etc. but it's good enough and allows me to have two ski holidays a season. Also, the pistes are never too crowded.
I skiied Austria last Jan and Borovets last March, and although the skiing in Austria was better, I have fonder memories of the Borovets trip.

Hi Tanjette
For me it's the value for money of the all round package. In terms of piste variety (and to some extent preparation) it doesn't compare to Austria, France, etc. but it's good enough and allows me to have two ski holidays a season. Also, the pistes are never too crowded.
I skiied Austria last Jan and Borovets last March, and although the skiing in Austria was better, I have fonder memories of the Borovets trip.
When they expand the runs over the next few years I think Borovets will come into its own (the main problem now is the lack of variety after 3-4 days), but I fear this may lead to an increase in holiday price. I hope not.
Borovets is great value, the Bulgarians are good fun, and I'm really looking fwd to meeting some friends I made there on my last trip.
hi tanjette went last year loadsa snow , nice people, nice food great nightlife stayd in hotel olymp last time but stayn in rila from now on also people i met last year going back same time roll on feb 4th!!!
This will be our fourth time to Pamporovo and we've also been once Borovets.
The price is probably our main reason for chosing this location. We ski two years in Bulgaria and the third in Canada, so Pamporovo evens the cost out.
The second reason is the size/layout of the piste. As we travel in a group and are all at different skill levels,(plus skiers and boarders) we find it very easy to all meet up at lunch time and the end of day. (It's also the same reason we pick Jasper in ...

The second reason is the size/layout of the piste. As we travel in a group and are all at different skill levels,(plus skiers and boarders) we find it very easy to all meet up at lunch time and the end of day. (It's also the same reason we pick Jasper in Canada). We've tried other resorts that are more spread out, and the logistics of meeting up become a headache.
The accommodation is clean and warm.
There's always something on the hotel menu that I will eat. I like my food and I've never gone hungry yet.
We've stayed in The Perelik, The Orpheus, The Pamporovo and this year we're in the Rohzen.
Everyone's friendly, the instructors on the whole are brilliant.
Looking forward to February. Skiing in February is new for us, we normally go January.
