Foreign currency

Does anyone know what the exchange rate is in Borovets at present? The rate in the UK seems to of taking a nose dive in the last coupe of days

I don't know the rate but it's always better in BG in my experience. Best rate is usually in Samokov but the Crown Booths in Boro are pretty trustworthy. I never take any leva from UK, just £20 notes.

I am due to fly out to Boro this weekend coming for the Xmas holiday. I have not ordered any currency yet but was wondering if I should have a small amount with me until I can get to the local cash point.

Would you say it is needed?

Also what is with the £20 note thing?

Hi Chris,

£20.0 notes refers to crown booths in resort and exchange direct from them. I personally use my debit card at Samokov Hotel or Rila Hotel and draw cash out, rate still better than here but better still in Samokov Town.

I keep looking a the snow cams and the forecast, I just hope there will still be enough good ski runs open.

Same flight!! (Just hoping there won't be a 7hr delay like last Christmas!) we didn't get into resort until 5:30am 😒 so first day skiing was dreadful and we were in bed by 7pm that night!

My husband is checking the web cams hourly, hoping to see a good dump of the real stuff just in time for us all arriving

I have always used my card to draw out money.

Why does everyone state £20 notes, why not £5/10/50 notes.
