A colleague i work with uses gro pro camera when teaching students to paddle (in kayaks). I have been out a few times with him using this camera under water and splashed upon and used quite roughly. The results are in my mind striking and incredible. If using once a year i would say they are expensive otherwise a good investment.
I was hoping he may borrow it to me when i'm back over in february. It has good conections to helmets and also padding when buffeting around. Let me know if you get one how it goes enjoy your time in Boro pal. I'm certain you can get a good connection to a surf board too, there is a lot of accessories for exactly what it was produced for.
Hi, Ive got a gopro HD hero 2. Will be using it in Canada in a week and Borovets at the start of feb. Awesome bit of kit but expensive and quite addictive. I bought mine 2nd hand (prices are coming down as the 3 is out now!) for £140. Since then Ive been buying mounts, adapters, poles, memory cards, batteries and today I bought the LCD bacpac (but thats going back tomorrow as it doesnt work). Ive been making mounts to fit it to my snowboard too.
Like I said they are awesome but they can ...

Like I said they are awesome but they can sort of take over a bit. The older ones like mine arent amazing underwater without the flat lens upgrade but the quality of everything else is. Mine takes 11mp photos too.
