Bulgaria faces no austerity measures in electricity consumption, and no termination of central heating, and its economy could function for up to 100 days on the country's reserves.
This was announced Wednesday by Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov after the meeting of the Consultative National Security Council that he summoned after the Russian gas supplies for the country coming through Ukraine's transit routes were cutoff early Tuesday morning.
According to the President, the Council had reached a consensus on the internal measures that the Bulgarian authorities need to take in order to alleviate the effects of the Russia-Ukraine gas prices dispute on the country.
In the short run, the Bulgarian economy will be supplied with 4 million cubic meters of natural gas per day from the two storage facilities at Chiren and Galata. These should be sufficient to keep the economy running for about 90-100 days without the regular Russian supplies of natural gas, of course, with restricted consumption.
The social institutions and the heating utilities as well as those plants that on work on non-stop production cycles will receive natural gas as a priority.

If nothing has been sorted by the end of the week then they can see substantial EU intervention as other countries are suffering as a concequence of the feud between Russia and the Ukraine.
Fingers crossed.
I have posted this on the other Gas posts. Hope this helps.

Bulgaria’s Borovets Ski Resort Seriously Affected by Gas Shortage

7 January 2009 | One of Bulgaria’s top three winter resorts, Borovets, where all facilities run on natural gas, is facing dismal prospects from the cut in Russian gas supplies, resulting from the Russia-Ukraine dispute.
The mayor of the Samokov municipality, where Borovets is located, has sent letters to the Bulgarian government and Bulgargaz, asking them to secure the necessary quantities of gas for Borovets. His appeal aims to prevent a complete failure of the tourist season for the resort, where all the hotels – now filled with tourists, rely on gas-fuelled heating, according to the Bulgarian Pari newspaper.
At the same, according to the publication, Bulgaria's biggest winter resort of Bansko is not affected at all by the gas shortage, as all of its facilities run on gasoline and diesel.
The gas shortage crisis, if it remains unresolved, may give an unexpected additional beating to the already shaky situation of Bulgaria’s winter resorts this season. On the one hand, as BalkanTravellers.com reported, some predicted that the global financial crisis may affect them positively, by bringing in British tourists seeking low-cost alternatives to the pricier winter resorts in Western Europe and North America. On the other hand, however, there were expectations for a difficult and hard-to-predict tourist season, which the government and private businesses tried to counter by initiatives such as the giving away of free lift passes for the Bansko, Borovets, and Pamporovo ski resorts.
