Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Bulgaria is a fantastic place to go skiing - everything's dead cheap and although the Bulgarians don't have a great deal, they're more than happy to give you the best of everything they have.

Unfortunately, the brochures won't tell you about the orphanages in Bulgaria - (of a similiar standard to those which were made infamous in Romania about 15 years ago)

If everyone who goes skiing in Bulgaria between now and of the season takes a small gift - perhaps we could collectively help to put a little happiness back into a country where for 7 days we're going to have non-stop partying.

Please could everyone take a couple of small things eg soft toys, crayons, paper, felt tips etc even a box of pens and a few notepads swiped from the stationery cupboard would go a long, long way in Bulgaria.

I'm going out to Borovets next week saturday - I will speak to the reps from all travel firms when I'm out there and ask them to accept donations from their guests to be forwarded on, (and ask them to pass the message on to their colleagues in other resorts)

Elaine - that's an excellent suggestion about the childrens clothes, I'm sure they would be very gratefully received.

The only type of things I wouldn't recommend it anything battery operated, or anything similiar which would be expensive to operate over a period of time.
