Grand Montana Bansko

Hi, this is my first time posting but have been very impressed with all the information on all the topics being discussed.
We are going to Bansko first week in March and was wondering if anyone had any info on The Grand Montana Apps, distance from Gondola, eating , drinking nearby? any information would be helpful.

Many Thanks

re: Grand Montana Bansko

It will take 15-20 mins dependant on the speed you walk..
There is a possibility of a short cut through past the Tamplier, past the new pool development to the Kandahar, right at the Emerald, down the road slightly and cut across the waste land at the back of the cabins opposite the gondola...
Or you could take the free bus Very Happy

OK.....
been in the hotel for 3 days now 7 to go....
Nice location, above Perun abd Lion, a bit of a hike to the gondola ( i'd say a good 10 mins plus) and not in ski boots.
We are staying in a 2 bedroom suite very spacious and well equiped. The staff is very friendly and speak good english. Decent parking alley across the street.
And now the snags (bearing in mind that both my wife and I are very easy to please people, and we love Bansko, 3rd time here)

The rooms are a bit cold ( jumper required), and the water is hot but not hot hot for those of us who like to shower and shave with really hot water.
Upon arrival and ever since, there is a decent lingering sweage smell in our bathroom, the staff was kind enough to send up a room deodorizer and we have been spraying the heck out of it. Maybe it's just this room, I dont know.

Breakfast buffet is on the poor side (French toast and sausages are the daily hot routine). We had a little better buffets in our previous stays in Belvedere and Edelweiss.
The WifI our room is hit and miss, a bit frustrating.
Sat TV is ok if you speak bulgarian, only BBC news in English.
Finaly, for those who plan on using the Spa facilities, no bathrobes available ( I even asked if they had any to rent), so unless you bring your own, you will have to improvise with a nice room towel ensemble to move around the hotel.
Small snags overall, but we will probably be looking at different hotels for next year.

Cheers
