i have the same fears no matter where i go, be it italy, austria, bulgaria etc etc. first time i did bulgaria i was very dubious about the place, the snow that first trip was immense and i've never been let down since. of course people worry about lack of snow, its natural.i will be worried right until the moment i set foot in the resort! its just the way it is! but i know it will be just fine!

I can undersrand why we worry what with global warming and everywhere getting hotter, its not that cold here yet so worry away

have a read Mr. Pamporovskiweather forecast from BG weather institute (0fficial that is obviously forecasts for more than 3 days are unreliable but there is still something to think about)

Това съобщи за БТА ст.н.с. д-р Латин Латинов, метеоролог в НИМХЦБАН, представяйки прогнозата на времето за декември. През първото десетдневие времето ще бъде сравнително топло с разкъсана облачност, но в много райони мъгливо. През второто десетдневие най-голяма вероятност за превалявания, предимно от дъжд, има около 12 декември и в края на десетдневието. През първите дни на третото десетдневие ще бъде студено. Впоследствие температурите ще се повишат и времето ще бъде променливо. Най-голяма вероятност за превалявания има около 25 декември и в края на десетдневието, прогнозира Латин Латинов. Средната температура ще бъде с 1-2°C по-висока от нормалната. Сумата на валежите през месеца се очаква да бъде около и по-малка от нормалната. През декември времето у нас ще бъде предимно облачно и мъгливо. Облачните и мъгливите дни ще бъдат между 10 и 15, а слънчевите - между 2 и 5 дни. Броят на дните с валеж ще бъде между 4 и 7.

The highest temperatures during December will reach 15-20C, and the lowest will be between -13 and -8C.During the first 10 days of this month the weather will be relatively warm and partially cloudy and in few regions foggy.
During the second 10 days of this month the biggest chance of precipitation mainly rain could be around 12th and towards 20th has been forecasted by the meteorologist Mr Latinov from the relevant Bulgarian institute.
In the first few days from the last third of this month the weather will be cold but after that the temperatures will rise and the weather will be changeable .The highest chance of precipitation is around 25th and in the last few days of the old year. The average temperature could be 1-2 degrees higher than normal. The precipitation during December is expected to be around the norm or less than the average for this time of the year. Cloudy days for the whole of this month are expected to be between 10-15 .Predominantly sunny days should be 2-5 in number. Rain will be expected to fall for about 4-7 days during last month of 2006.
In short: Only around the Xmas time the weather will get colder with (precipitations not stated what type) around Xmas and New Year.

This is exactly what I have heard from the locals, a very warm December.
I think this could be the year Mr Pamporovo Petes snow guarantee expires!
