HELP - Can we take Lev????

Hi

Can someone tell me whether or not you are able to take Bulgarian Lev into Bulgaria? I know this sounds like a really stupid question but having just converted a load of money to Bulgarian Lev to take on saturday someone told me that they don't let their currency in or out of their country......

Help would be appreciated!

That was years ago. No probs now. Rate last week was 2.6lev to £1.

What are the sort of prices?
beer?
coke?
food?
etc

Beer - 2.5 Lev Average (slightly higher in Hotels)
Coke - 1.5 Lev
3 course meal - 10 lev
Chocolate Brandy - 4 to 5 lev (compulsory on the slopes)

depends where you 'shop'. our hotel was 1.5 lev Beer and at the mid station hot chocs were 3 lev. but its all cheap.

don't know what questions but I think u might b goin 2 Borovets. I was in pamps. Still no need to worry. The night life is always good on ski holidays.

so you took Lev with you rather than exchanging it out there? Did you have any problems using credit or debit cards when you were out there as I hear this is also a no no?????

no problem with crerdit cards or debit cards to get cash.but make sure you use them in your hotel to get cash not any hole in the wall. If you are goin to Pamps there is a cash machine in the lobby of the Perilik hotel.
