With the arrival of each new winter/ski season, I commit myself to further my skiing ability to "that" next level. This usually involves a number of advanced private ski lessons followed by very early starts (to get the first gondola) to practice what I have learned during lessons before that days lessons and then again at the end of the day.
Now, I appreciate it may sound sad etc but I can honestly say that I believe my skiing has improved drastically as a result.

easy the snowboarding gets soooooo much easier, with every swilly taken on the day of said activity, result, no swilly no can do my friend!!!! many swilly oh move over and give me the mountain,,,,,,,,,,,,, duuuuuuuude and look out skieer dudes i'm comin through,

My friend is comming on his first ski trip in Feb, so im trying to get him up to speed in MK. What I have picked up on is how sloppy my technique has become.
Always good to go back to basics once in a while.
When I first started skiing all I wanted to do was get down the hill as fast as possible, but I've found that as I've got older I've started to work more on my technique. A clear head in the morning also helps.
I've also found that Brits seem to talk up their ability, I've been on numerous ski trip and met people who have told me how brilliant they are at skiing only to see them on the hill in the racing snowplow position hurling down the slope 95% out of control.

Skiing for one week a year is never going to urn you into a great skier but after a few years your skiing should look quite tidy.
Ah! Dan I have visions of you wiping out half the ski schools on the green run with your arms and legs flayling everywhere and then skiing straight through the doors of a packed tavern, crashing into the bar while the barman pours you a beer.
