Hi Guys
Has anybody got any good pointers on a helmet cam
as this year want to record those classic moments.
it is from Santa AKA Wife so Budget around £50 - £70.
Any pointers would be great.
GoPro HD Hero, simply the best... have tried others and honestly nothing compares.... New version available now, but look at the HD1, around £140.00, still 1080 HD... We have two, with various mounts, and use them for skiing and mtb... We have found that we need to reduce the setting further to be able to make postable vids, some of the file sizes in top definition were 20gb.. It does not reduce the quality that much. The camera is very easy to use, virtually bulletproof, light, anti shake ...

Hi all, I'm looking into purchasing my first cam for this season and wondered if anyone could tell if the Go Pro Naked or the Contour Roam would be best.
They're both similar in price range but cannot really find a decent review on them
We just bought the Kodak Playsport ZX5 from Amazon for £72 & its brilliant. Had it mounted on sons bike helmet to test it out & so far, so good.
If you want to see results for any camera try searching on you tube for make & model of camera .
go pro to be honest probably just pips the contour hd (which is what i use) but if you mount it on your helmet you look a right knob! the contour is much easier to swop around which is what we do with the kids, simple goggle strap mount works brilliantly, had mine a couple of years now and its been brilliant. Well worth getting a second hand one
Bought it a few months back from Maplin for £110 to use on the mountain bikes but have mounts on my ski's and ski helmet for it as well. The quality is actually better than a Go Pro 2, there's a few clips on YouTube comparing them.
It also comes with the LCD backscreen, laser guide, remote control, water/shock proof case and a bundle of mounts all included in the price.

On a £ for £ basis nothing else out there ...
I use an AEE sd20.

On a £ for £ basis nothing else out there will beat it.
In it's case it does look like a Go Pro and I think that's what they were aiming for and I agree looks a little daft but with so many people using Go Pro's these days you wouldn't be the only person out there looking like a plank.
JimmyP, sounds like that is similar to 7dayshop Action Cam Extreme HD Digital Video Camera for £120. Very tempted, but cant find any sample videos. Does yours do slow motion 60fps and timelapse? Your link doesnt work at work, and couldnt find it on Maplins site.
