Hi Dona- We are going to Borovets not Pamps, which is a shame.
But also looking forward to good snow.
Last year our ski school consisted of our instructor continually just saying, FOLLOW ME. We had a good laugh about it, but it didn't get us anywhere.
I then paid for 1on1 tuition for a day through our rep ,asking for someone who could speak a liitle more English. Guess what, he couldn't speak any and I didn't learn anything. Olly then took me up on the slopes one day and that helped ...

Booked with Fiona this year, so should be better.
My daughter Ginger Pop is dyslexic like my son, so please excuse their spelling!!!! But at least they don't worry too much about it and it doesn't stop them.
Last year my daughters ribbed me because they said I was the only person who could go uphill instead of down hill(turn and point skis uphill to slow down - do it well enough and you go up hill!!!)
3rd year this year
also going on 16th
BUT have been on dry slope so tecnique improved but dont know how brave I will be on a real slope! Only done greens and blues so far!
Sounds like we will get on well!
Hi Glynis- you sound like a professional up to me!
We might bump into each other on the slopes, just look for the women not really moving almost at a stand still.
Before I went last year we went to the Snowdome a lot and I thought I was doing well with my technique, until I reached the slopes. I do think the bad snow made a difference, as everywhere was so slippery and frightening. hopefully snow will be brill this year and then we might feel completely different.
But... the reeeeaaaaalllly slow person on the Pamps slopes that week might be me! I am also VERY good at snowplough, never quite managed to get the back of the skis to meet up though!! The brandy chocolates sound like a fab idea!
I too skiied last year at Borovets and came to the conclusion that ice and mud STINK. Went January 6th this year and found it great to ski on snow!
I find 1-1 great fun, especially as you can come down behind the instructor at great speeds and in control, with the instructor's legs taking the flack!! Ask for Georgi Rangelov - he is stronger than he looks, has a great sense of humour, excellent English and will get you skiing.
Last year's icy conditions were dreadful. We were in Pamps and the run down to the lift from the ski school every morning was absolutely lethal. I think if you could manage that you can manage anything!
