Fantastic weather up in west yorks also Val. I heard on the news the other day that the hole in the ozone has moved from the southern hemisphere to the north and will be over the UK. If that is true we are in for a hot summer and some very sun burnt brits. Back home it's almost impossible to buy any suncreen under a factor 15 and most people that work out doors use a factor 50. It'll be interesting to see what happens here if it's true.
It certainly will although we keep hearing reports about global warming etc and last year was the crapiest summer I can remember. I would like cold winters with lots of snow and hot summers so we can light the bbq. We were up in Yorkshire twice last year but in the dales. Lovely part of the country.
You've just described the weather in NZ. Where I live you waterski all summer and snow ski all winter. The ski season normally goes from end June to end Nov but last season they had so much snow they reopened for Dec and Jan (middle of Summer) Snow ski in the morning then down to the lake for some water skiing or swimming in the afternoon.
My niece lives in Auckland and has been for some 5 or 6 years - she has her residency now and keeps on about going out there. My brother in law and his wife (her parents) were over in NZ for 6 weeks the year before last and loved it so much have bought land. Perhaps we might go in the next couple of years. The though of hot summers and cold snowy winters certainly is appealing.
I'm making the most of the property market here Val. 5 more years then I'll head home without the worry of a mortgage. Came over here with my ex-wife but she turned out to like other men more so it came to a quick stop.
Go to NZ Snowtox. If you like the outdoors it is the best place in the world to be. The only place in the world I've found to be similar to NZ is BC Canada.
I come from a place called Taupo and my local ski feild is Whakapapa. Very nice part of the world.
