Helmet straps

Ok here's one for you. I purchased a new helmet last year tried it on but stupidly did not do up the chin strap. When I went skiing to my annoyance I found that when done up the strap is just slightly to tight and no amount of adjusting will give me room.
My question is does any know of somewhere I can get a clip to attach to the exisiting strap so it fits? Failing that I will have to buy another helmet!!

Come on Dan - you didn't really think you would get any serious replies did you..... Razz

Have to be honest I don't know what you can do. I had a look on net and asked someone I know who has a ski accessory place and his general consensus is - buy a new helmet.

I did think though - the mention of a dog collar is on the right track - you could cut the strap - buy some material the same thickness and strength and sew in a section. You will need to make sure it is sturdy material (get black dog collar) and use extra strength thread to sew in otherwise you will not be so protected should have a fall and the helmet comes off easy - sew in an extention of firm fabric and it should be OK - I think Neutral
