Help re blades

My daughter has been lent a pair of blades - desperate to try them out
BUT wont fit in suitcase. How do others carry these?
Can buy Ski bag £24.99 + pay carriage if I do it today
Would it be cheaper to hire some out there and if so where is it best to go?
Trying to keep weight down to fit in stuff I have for the orphanage!
Help much appreciated

Sooooo excited

x for Pete on valentines day - thank you for the Rose. You are a star with what you guys are all doing on this site

re: Help re blades

oops flying to Sophia then going to Borovets
looks like checking in skis online will cost £24 online
found cheaper ski bags at decathlon £10 and £15 - are those ones OK? Will have to brave the traffic to go there tonight or tomorrow
Only way to avoid £24 is to put one set of our boots in a case but wanted the room for the orphanage!

re: Help re blades

You can hire a set of blades in Boro for 20 lev per day. It will cost you more to buy the bag and pay the £15 ski carriage. Best to get them over there!!

you try turning up at airport without paying carriage and see if you get away with it, if not they will charge you. if your with thomson though can only have two pieces of hold lug which includes your ski bag, we have got to put boots in suitcase Mad

re: Help re blades

We stayed in the Igika Palace, that was from the ski store in the hotel. I am sure they will be about the same everywhere. lots of places advertising the hire of Blades. My husband has used them for the last 2 years and much prefers them. Have fun.

re: Help re blades

When are you off and where from? Seems most airports apart from Gatwick now allow 2 pieces of hand luggage per person.

re: Help re blades

We flew with Thomson and put one boot bag and one blade bag under, they didn't charge for either. Make sure when they say "are you checking skis in" that you tell them they are blades i.e half the size.....
