Well duh. Clearly I was in Bulgaria. A British resort means that it is wholly or mostly British people who go there. And like I said, I didn't hear a single other language (apart from Bulgarian of course) while I was there. And it barely caters for the British market because it just doesn't live up to the standards you expect. I'm not talking the standards you expect from a 5 star in Britain, but is heating in my room in a snowy resort too much to ask?
Sorry but have to disagree totally with Rachel about this hotel. Think I must have stayed at a totally different hotel Pamporovo when we went last month. We experienced the total opposite to her experience. Always had enough towels, everything replaced, room very clean etc. The staff were always Polite, even when the 'brits' , who were not so polite were complaining about queuing for Resturant . The bulgarian people seemed very reserved to me not inpolite. They do not go around being ...

The bulgarian people seemed very reserved to me not inpolite. They do not go around being falsly polite as you often get in other resorts around the world. Always got a reciept for our drinks. The food was not inedible, there was always something to eat. The salads were always nice.I agree that the dishes did look sometimes a bit strange but If you tasted them they were more than often very good. As for it being a british resort it is up to us adapt to their ways not ours. If you want resorts that are more british try Benidorm or Salou( I know they are not ski resorts, but you get my drift)
Forgot to add that you are not paying 5* prices. Its Bulgarian 5* not British 5* (which are often not as good as this hotel). I am of the opinion you get what you pay for. A report in a british newspaper recently stated that Bulgaria was £1000 cheaper to stay and ski than other European ski resorts.
Have to say I can see where Rachel is coming from, we are a group of 8 back last week from Hotel Pamporovo while the lobby, bar & facilities are great the way it's run is a total disaster....we were there for 1 week only and didnt get towels till our 4th day! Each time u ask for something they speak to u rude and charge u for everything. It's a joke. We had problems with our room re cleaning, heating as well on the 7th floor and we were not the only ones...I tried not to let it disrupt my ...

This potentially could be a fab hotel with the bowling, irish bar,spa etc but the manager seriously needs to run this better or people will stop going.............
I got back from hotel Pamporovo on Saturday and I agree with some of the negative comments and disagree with others. That pretty much sums up our experience of the hotel - mixed.
The way I see it, we paid a lot less than we would have anywhere else in Europe and we spent hardly any time in the hotel room anyway.
Just one point on the dining room queues - there were often plenty of seats, just not all together on one table. If people had stopped being so flippin' British some days & been ...

What is the matter with some people on this board? Rachel was only expressing her opinion of the Hotel, not all of Bulgaria. Do you think she should she have lied about her experience and sang it's praises, when it seems the service received was not very good??
It appears that as soon as anyone says anything negative about THEIR OWN experience the get hammered, and no I don't have anything bad to say about my stay in Bansko (when they had the bomb scare) as my stay in the Perun Hotel was ...

It appears that as soon as anyone says anything negative about THEIR OWN experience the get hammered, and no I don't have anything bad to say about my stay in Bansko (when they had the bomb scare) as my stay in the Perun Hotel was great, but if it hadn't been I would have been honest.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion (without any bad language of course), without an nasty comeback, if not what is the point of this board.
If you do not like it - then don't come! We are sick to death of people like you who keep on complaining and keep coming back. Go somewhere else where you will probably find hundreds of faults. Bulgaria will cange for the better but will stay the same miserable woman.
