Long time no see - so hope all is well with you. I was thinking the other day back to when I first discovered this forum, probably around 8 years ago, and it was so active and lively. Remembering all the orphanage stuff that went on, the ski-a-thong, etc
Anyway, I am still here, now a Boroveteran I think! And I've met so many wonderful and lovely people who post here over the past few years I feel truly lucky and privileged. A lot of us still call each other by our forum ...
Hi Pete!

Anyway, I am still here, now a Boroveteran I think! And I've met so many wonderful and lovely people who post here over the past few years I feel truly lucky and privileged. A lot of us still call each other by our forum names, because that's how we first got to know each other, and it's all thanks to this forum. So I'd also like to thank you for that!
So, Pete, will you be skiing this season? Pamporovo again? Do tell...
Hope you've had a good Christmas, and here's wishing you a very Happy New Year.
Still here in Bansko mate, busy with tourists... snow has arrived and temps have plummeted
Wendy is well, Jess is growing, now a skier/biker/skater/ninja like her mum
Actually skied in Pamps last season 'snow white' helping out with accomadation, and it was good, might look at going over again this season...
Not much to report, things move very slowly here as you know... the old faces still come out every season, March normally, so will be looking forward to that
Are you ...

Are you off to Italy again ? I think your seat in the Markony is still there if you visited, well, it has PP carved on it
Wow! theres a blast from the past! lol
Still around Pete and had many enjoyable ski trips to Borovets- but off to Italy tomorrow as snow was not good last january! (just look at it now!)- wish I had booked now!
Nice to see you again
Well it looks like I'm not quite the oldest swinger in town just yet then !!!
I bailed out from this site after about 10 years + looking after it when it all got too stupid with the idiots who had hijacked the site .
I'm sure they are now long gone but unfortunately they took with them my enthusiasm to keep an eye on the board every single day
and as time went by I grew less and less interested in getting involved again.
We do hope to return to Pamporovo again some day but for this ...

We do hope to return to Pamporovo again some day but for this season we are off to Courmayuer in Italy on 25th Jan and then to
Livigno also in Italy on 14th March. I'm afraid that the Balkan decision not to use Plovdiv due to their financial involvement with Sofia Airport
has pretty much killed the resort, as when we last went there in 2011 it was virtually deserted.
Great to hear from you guys and I wish you and all your loved ones a fantastic New Year and a great skiing season.
Hi pete great to see you on here again, got some excellent advice over the years from you and other forum members shame the trolls got to you, anyway all the best to you and family enjoy Italy mate
I dont know if you know this pete, having not seen you pop up for a while, but crystal ski have chartered a plovdiv flight, from gatwick this season. We can hope it is popular enough to be a regular fix! Crystal seem to push pamporovo more than bansko and borovets, certainly with brochure space, and as i booked through an agent, although i needed know persuasion the agents were clearly influenced in attempting to get holiday makers to pamporovo above the other 2 bulgaria resorts.
No I didn't know that Adam so lets hope it's the start of a revival for Pamporovo. Plovdiv is a cracking airport now
and really should be getting far more flights than it currently does.
I still think however, in order for Pamporovo to ever get close to it's one-time popularity that it enjoyed in the late
90's it's going to take more than just 1 chartered flight to make a significant difference and Balkan hold the key to all that.
Great to see you back even if its only a brief visit Pete!
Agree with you about Plovdiv. Ryan Air have reduced the number of flights there this year - now only flying on Friday and Mondays and only evening flights. However these evening flights mean a potential additional days skiing. Also makes a weekend ski break a real possibility - flying out on Friday night, skiing Sat, Sun and Mon and returning Monday evening. The buzz in town has picked back up with Pampi apres ski bar being so centrally located and picking up where the white hart was previously. Politics still an issue with regards to the new ski lifts but that's Bulgaria.
