When you are skiing or just wearing your boots how much do your feet actually move in the boot... like side to side (not meaning the ankle)
I'm finding this hard to describe as you can probably tell... think of the foot alone... no leg or ankle...
I can wiggle my toes and move the ball of my foot off the bottom of the boot, only very slightly, and when wearing the boots if i fall my feet seem to move side to side very very slightly.

I don't know if this is normal as wore hire boots last time and have only skiid in these boots once in castlford the rest tehy've been worn is around the house.
your ankle must not move! take them to ellis at castleford and get them heat moulded to your feet and do up the straps as tight as possible. when you take them off the combination of the cold and tightness should give you only SLIGHT pins and needles.
your toes will move but only slightly when you stop for drinks, food etc whislt away from you skis undo the buckles and redo before you set off skiing again. this not only gets blood back into your toes! but also feet swell and shrink alot ...

but make sure the boots are 1: comfy and even more importantly tight espc around the ankle.
having tight boots not only protects the bones from crunching but also transfers what your brain tells your legs/feet to do quicker to the bindings thus making you a better safer skier.
imagaine the boots and skis as a extension of the legs the boots/ankle are the weakest point in that equation, and should ALWAYS fit correctly.
I think it depends on how well you ski,to how tight your boot is.now i'm not saying that they should be loose, but if your a bigginer you simply don't need them to be compitition tight,it make the whole experiance uncomfortable and frankly very difficult...
The other thing is if you have worn them around the house, then your footbed will be moulded to a dif stance than the one you ski in,that could make a dif when you ski,try heated footbeds they take the volume out of the boot, which ...

The other thing is if you have worn them around the house, then your footbed will be moulded to a dif stance than the one you ski in,that could make a dif when you ski,try heated footbeds they take the volume out of the boot, which reduces the room you have in the boot itself and it's moulded to your exact ski stance hence making your boot more comfortable.
Most shops offer a perfect fit service so take them back as offen as needed untill they get it right for you...If you take them to another shop to have them blown out! then you will lose your in shop fitting warranty...
I just bought my own boots and have picked up loads of info on fitting in the last month or 2..
Also sounds like the boots they sold you may be simply to wide, they should know this if they measure you properly, coz they know some boots are wider than others....
thanks guys... shall be returning to the shop between christmas and new year to see what can be done... don't know if there's anything that could reduce the volume of the boot
