If you've booked Pamps for the first time this year

We went to Pamps for the first time last year. If I had read a post this time last year saying don't go to Pamps I would be worried now. BUT DON'T!
We had a fantastic time. The Hotel was lovely. The bars are great, the food was ok in the hotel but in the restaurants it was fantastic. We don't have kids but there were plenty of families, I highly recomend bum boarding it was worth the money just to watch the kids crash and pile up whilst drinking hot chocolate and brandy.

The snow may have been bad, but we were lucky it snowed the first 2 days of our holiday and that was enough for the week. You could't go all the way down to the bottom of the green run, but we didn't even go on the green run we got down on the lift, that's what they are for. The snow was bad everywhere, my sister was working in Zermatt and she said there was no snow at all early on, and it costs a lot more to go there and not be able to ski/board than Bulgaria.
It is cheap to go and the food and drink are cheap when you get there. We heard some people comlaining about the price of lager compared to the year before but personally I don't mind paying 50p as opposed to £3 in the Alps. As for those who say it has gone down hill in the last 3 years, my home town was great 10 years ago and has gone down hill in the last few years, but I am 10 years older too and don't want to go to the same rowdy bars.
All together we had a fantastic time, so much so that we have booked to go back again to the same hotel in Feb.
A quick note on the bell sellers, yes they can freak you out if you are not expecting them, but I would rather be harrassed to buy a bell than harrassed by people hawking cheap jewellery in the Canaries, or prostitues in Barcelona. Buy a bell and use it as a christmas tree decoration, then next year when you put your tree up it will remind you that it's nearly time for skiing/boarding again.
You will have a fantastic time and if it's not your cup of tea come back and post sensible reasons why you didn't like it, don't wait until next year and freak people out that have just booked it for the first time.

What a sensible post - and a nice sentiment too about the bell on a Xmas tree = nearly ski time. Nice!

Thanks. People should remember a holiday is what you make it. Some people do have the mentality of looking for fault then complaining to there tour operater to get compensation. We have stayed in some right dives, but have never had a bad holiday because we made it fun.

That's why I added this post instead of just tagging on to the end of such a negative one. At least if people add to other posts it will just disapear down the pages.

We were in Pamps 2yrs ago for Christmas, absolutely loved the place - that much we are heading back this year again. Think we bought about 10 bells from diesel, I bought him a hot chocolate and he cried his eyes out bless
See ya all there
