Balkan holidays are having a 10% off bookings this weekend and it`s the cheapest i`ve seen from Edinburgh yet with Iglika Palace for £400 for 24th Feb for sole occupancy. Has anyone stayed here before? Whats food/location like?

Hi stayed here 2 years ago and have to say its a hotel of 2 halves.In the old part which is where i was booked into is old small and very shabby. I spent 1 night in there and paid to upgrade the very next day, around £50 i think, and boy was it worth it. The rooms in the new part are completley different from that of the old part. Big bright and well funished.The food is so so but the location is very good. All in all its a good hotel but i would check that you are paying for superior rooms ...

Hi kelvin,As per my FB post...located behind Rila, so it's in a good location and also quiet enough. New part was built 3 years ago when knocked down some small, indiviudal chalets. Food is ok, new part is much better than the old (although the old is still better than some hotels in Boro) and they have a good bar downstairs with good happy hour prices. The price is also very good for that week.

Yo KelvinI have stayed there ( i think in the better rooms was more than ok). An option if you wanted it......tag on with my group I know it means getting down here but we usually get a decent discount. Leave it with you.

I've stayed there several times either in the old part, the new part and even in their chalets. Really good value hotel in a good location with it's own 24hr bar. Get down early for food and you will have the pick and it's satisfactory. I've stayed with mates and also taken the family there. It's got a pool which is ok and they have the usual range of massage on offer, i've not had one but a friend did it was ok apparently but in his opinion got the wrong massuse. I've stayed there several times either in the old part, the new part and even in their chalets. Really good value hotel in a good location with it's own 24hr bar. Get down early for food and you will have the pick and it's satisfactory. I've stayed with mates and also taken the family there. The bar has a number of screens showing the usual stuff and guests tend to be a mix of UK, Russian and few from Israel. I say go for it

Thanks EMJAY, sounds like a good enough place for me. For all of the 2 or 3 hours sleep i reckon I`ll get a night if it`s as good as last year!!!Boon, sounds like a brill idea and offer, but the thought of a drive home from down South after a knackering week in BG is probably suicidal!! And you lot in the exec lounge drinking............I`d probably not be allowed on the plane! It`s only £400 from Edinburgh, and that`s with a sole occupancy again so not too bad.

That`s me booked up now for 24th Feb. Can`t wait!! Hotel Iglika HB. Looking forward to seeing lots of old friends, and making lots of new!! Arriving 6pm Sun night, BB for 6.30 then!!
