re: In response to the annual 'hate boarders' thread
I would have to agree with some of the comments. I think it comes down to your personality off the piste, if your rude off slope then obviously you own the mountain wether your on a tray or fence posts.
lets be honest we have all had the nemesis problem, i mean the person that allways seems to be in the way all holiday. barging in the lift cue, standing where you want to jump and just brought the last chocolate muffin on the only hillside cafe. thats more annoying than any skier in my eyes ...

What about bladers? I guess as it's not so popular yet , so there are no stereotypes to exploit? I'd like to know if there are any though as I am thinking of taking it up myself. Do I wear a one purple all in one as seen in Boro in Jan , or do I wear baggy cool gear?

Bladers are an abomination and should be shot at dawn. Most are crap and do it because they are scared of the big skis and if they can do it well, they look super gay.

What happened to, and I quote "everyone can enjoy the piste" ???? As for the crapiness of bladers , I would say thats the same average with skiers and boarders - at least half the bods on the slopes at any one time are learning and falling over!! Anyway, I can't wait to look Super Gay when I try it
and Mat ... I shall be heading in your direction

I don't really understand 'blades' I was told they were for people who can't get to grips with either skiing or snowboarding but who want to whizz about the mountain, so long as they aren't rude, good luck to them, as a sub culture the kids at Tamworth seem to have a blast on them but I only noticed older people, particularly women on them in Bansko. Each to their own.

LOL Brilliant! ... posted this last night and when I get back there are a number of brilliant, well thought out comments, then it becomes a thread about why we hate bladers! Superb!
In response to some of the comments, yes boarders do have a big blind spot to the left or right, depending if you're goofy or regular, but it's couterbalanced by the fact that we can look up the hill when on our toeside. Then again it is up to the person who wants to overtake to do it safely.
As for blading ...

As for blading, I found it quite tricky, theres no room to lean forward or back without a tumble, hats off if you can do it well.
re: In response to the annual 'hate boarders' thread
We all love snow sports so ALL should get on , i see alot of ppl who have no slope manors , both skiers and boarders , so it should be a case of if slope patrols see bad slope manor they get warned or removed simple ... i often ride pass and mention to ppl , dont do that or dont sit htere becos ........ in a friendly manor hoping they act on it
