This is brilliant!

I'm very much a novice snowboarder having just recently started to get the hang of linked turns. Therefore, I'm expecting to get in the way of everyone when I hit the Bansko slopes this Sunday with my equally novice skier mate Scott, and Jo, the only decent rider in our group.

My mates and I are all mountainbikers at heart, and it's hilarious to hear the exact same arguments and twaddle spouted about the 'other' side. In our case, those nefarious, red sock wearing, ...

They insist on sitting down on the mountainside to drink their tea and eat their chip butties, exactly where we want to go! String them up I say, there's no room on my mountain for them! Wink

Now I'm off to finish me wine and quickly google 'piste rules' as I had no idea that there was such a thing other than the rather obvious 'steer clear of the large wobbly Scotsman as he's an accident waiting to happen'

Beagy xx Very Happy

Well just to throw my comments into the hat coming from a snowboarder, I don't really have a problem with skiers. One thing I noticed though is a lot of people say snowboarders don't check behind them when the are carving. Now I'm not sure how true this is but I was always taught that the person in front always has the right of way. So if you go into the back of them then it is your fault as you shouldn't have been following them so closely. Thats why I always give people a wide berth when ...

Its true that the overtaker must avoid the person he is overtaking, but when they make a blind turn over half the piste there is often very little that you can do

Ahhh, I see the references to snowboarding in a kilt have been deleted ... probably because they were a bit off colour and not because it was during the infamous skiathong!
