Is Bulgaria like a drug?

Once you have been there once, you find that you just have to keep going back and the excitement and build up to going again year on year never changes i.e. you feel like a kid knowing that you are going to Disney World for the very first time?.

Yes

Must admit I do particularly like this hotel (Pirin) in this resort (Bansko). I would imagine its the nearest thing to the excitement I felt as a child leading up to Xmas.

Glad to hear it cos that's where I'm staying when I go end of Feb. Anything you can particularly tell me about the hotel. Have head the staff aren't very friendly. Interested to get your views.

What bar are you guys gonna be in? Looks like I might be stuck at Gatwick by myself for a few hours so if you fancied a drink?

We'll be in whichever bar still has beer/alcohol left after the earlybird gatwick 22nders have emptied the kegs!

I didn't really speak to any staff but didn't find anyone unfriendly. The hotel staff are professional and efficient which is all I expect from them, they are working after all !

The things I did like were
- rooms up to uk hotel standard
- food good (by Bulgarian standards)
- Pool,Sauna, Steam room all pretty new and good quality
- Skiing - best available in Bulgaria (tuition too)
- Beer - Very cheap and plentiful

Many thanks Bonzo. Someone put a post up some time ago saying that the bar staff were somewhat rude. However I'm glad you found it different. Can't wait to go but still 5 weeks away.
