Lizzasnow thanks for that useful bit of information would not of known that and the kids are bound to want to swim (got more energy than me)! Its wierd as I cannot think of where the hotel is situated. Is it on up from Murgravets?
Now I know where it is thats where we had a ski school party thingy. Go by the name of pubs and Im there lol!! Cant wait getting really excited now especially since we have had loadsa of snow here and have lots of fun.
I stayed at The Finlandia from 18-25 January (when there was no skiiing for 2 days). What I didn't know until too late was that you can walk from the hotel to the Studenets mid-station in just 15 minutes.
I walked there on the afternoon of the 2nd no-ski day, and people were sledging and bumboarding down the bottom part of the Wall. If only I'd known that sooner... You can get sledges/bumboards from the hotel.

You walk from the hotel up through the trees to the main road, turn left and walk up the main road for a few hundred yards (there's a pavement!), then turn right, carry on past a large hotel/restaurant, (The Castle I think) up another track through the trees, and you're there!
And you can also do that if you miss the last courtesy bus in the morning...!
Just got back, having left a melting iced up resort, I hope it snows soon. They are having the hottest Feb for about 20 years, so its not loooking good.
