ok so over all it was a good holiday...

The snow was very good, on the sunday we arrived it snowed all night so there was lots of fresh powder for our first day. All the runs where open all week and there was plenty of off piste for boarders.

The snow slowly started to thin a bit after the first day until it pelted it down wednesday and the slopes once again where very good. There is plenty more snow forecasted so anyone going within the next few weeks will have great snow!

We originally booked into the cedar lodge apartments but on arrival was told we was being moved to the Necris hotel which I have to say was very very nice, the hotel restaurant was excellent which was surprising knowing hotel food isn’t very good.

Most of the staff where very pleasant one particular guy we got on with very well he gave us some excellent service (brought us beers to the spa pool) so we repaid him buy buying him a lift pass on his day off as he had never been up the mountain, was really great to see his face light up.

OK SO THE ONE BAD THING! POSSIBLEY RUINED THE HOLIDAY!

All week we went out for food then came back to the apartment and had an early night as we was just to tired to party. On the Friday we decided to go out for a bit of a session. We started off at the happy end which is great and highly recommended. We then went to club Amnesia which as soon as we went in I found a bit dodgy (lots of starring eyes)

After being in there for about 10 minutes we was being dragged out by the bouncers, we still have no idea why but we recon it might have been something to do with chatting to the wrong girls.

When I and 2 of my mates was being dragged out I got thrown towards the front doors where my hand went through the window cutting a very large gash in my hand and wrist and lots of shard glass in my knuckles.

The bouncers then went crazy at me for smashing the window so we legged it but they managed to catch my mate which they took all his money out his wallet and then took him to several cash machines until they found one that worked and made him take out another 150 levs or they said they was going to kill him (intimidation tactics I don’t know)

I then stupidly went back to find him walking past the club by which in seconds I had 3 bouncers drag me back inside trying to get my wallet, because I didn’t surrender my wallet they hit my head on the wall then when I was on the floor kicked me in the head then took my wallet.

In total they mugged us for 350 levs which isn’t worth our life’s (I say mugged because that’s exactly what it was) We went back to the hotel where the staff cleaned my hand and head up. The next morning I rang my dad and he rang our insurance to see what we should do which they said we needed to get our Rep to go to the police and have it logged with a statement from us and the bouncers. As a lot of people know some things are a bit crooked in Bulgaria so therefore we thought it was better to cut our losses as the bouncers could plant anything, they could say we was doing drugs, had weapons or anything.

So please please be aware of this kind of crap, if you want my advice stay in the top end of town, don’t go anywhere where it’s full of locals

Don’t mean to put anyone off, the holiday was fab it was just this one night

Did you SEE any other trouble?

This makes me want to cancel my booking! We are booked into the Hotel Orphey which is in the bottom end of town (opposite side to the gondola). i.e. the 'locals' end of town.

Notts - do you mind me asking how old you are?

I don't mean to be stereotypical but do/did you look like you are english. (any St George attire?, Shaven head etc?)

that sounds terrible, i know, but I am just wondering if they picked on you because of this or could this really have happened to anyone i.e. family of four etc?
