Just back from Bansko

Hi,

Just had my first ever ski experience (apart from a run at the new Chill Factore in Manchester) and I've had a mega holiday. I'm gutted to be home.

We stayed at the Grand Arena in Bansko, fab hotel, great staff and aparently 'not a real ski holiday' according to the 'old-timers' because it's just such a great experience at the Grand Arena.

We took our 5 year old son, who loved it in the Kindergarten at the top of the Gondola. We avoided the queues at the Gondola (although there was only 1 day when it was very busy - Easter Monday) because we had a child with us - straight up the back staircase and on!

We landed at midnight Sat andI'm already looking at the weather etc. to go again at Christmas.

I had lessons (pre-booked in the UK) and my instructor was fab! Having only had 2 lessons in the UK - I was doing some of the red-runs by day 4.

I was a bit worried after reading some of the comments etc. on the newsgroups but as a 1st time experience (and with a 5 year old) it was great.

The Grand Arena hotel is definitely worth paying for.

E-mail me if you want any more info!!

I'm booking in to go to the Chill Factore again this week as I'm addicted!!!! Loving it!!!

re: Just back from Bansko

it was a joke arron, when I feel badly on a flat it was a boarder that stopped to help me and to be honest I didnt expect a boarder to stop as it was so flat.

re: Just back from Bansko

same for me,i got stuck on a flat and a skier held out his pole for me which i had never been offered in 4 years of boarding and thats what actually made me think. everyone shares the mountain so if people spent less time moanin bout each other it would be better.People who moan bout the opposite sport are set in the 80s and usually of the older generation in a bright one piece suit

re: Just back from Bansko

Lol Very Happy it just annoys me cause usually the ski/board argument is between old skiers and young chav boarders who have been doing it for 2 days and think thats part of the sport......sorry rant over now Razz
