Just back from Pamps

Hey All,

Just to let you know that PP is soooooo right about the snow and the rubbish snow forecasts!! I spent so much time checking the forecasts before I went to Pamps on 30th and I worried about nothing. I got to ski everyday (I was there for 8 days) and had the best time ever!!

Even the webcam makes you worried but like PP said, it is at the bottom of the piste and there is a lot more snow when you get to the top of the mountain.

If anyone doesn't know where to stay I recommend Hotel Mourgavets, my boyfriend and I couldn't find a single fault, it was excellent.

On our last day (7th Jan) it poured down with snow so anyone going out to Pamps, have a fab time!! Just wrap up warm because it is freezing when you get to the top of the mountain!!

Nice one Jo! Glad you enjoyed it, especially bit about Mourgavets as that's where I'm going on 12 feb.

Now for the girly bit - do we need to take hairdryers (got really long hair that takes ages to dry with crap dryers). Also what r facilities like re pool, sauna etc and do we need to take separate towels. Also, (sorry) do they do massage there, if so do you know what it's like.

Many thanks

Hi Twiggy,

I was wearing thermals both top and bottom and a fleece jumper as well. But I'm sure a t-shirt and jumper will suffice. I was also wearing a normal pair of socks under my ski socks. I guess it depends how quickly you get cold/hot.

re: Just back from Pamps

Hi Elaine,

Very good questions. I've got long hair too so took my own hairdryer (just remember to take a 2 socket plug). The hairdryers are not powerful in the hotel.

Pool is good but quite small. It is warm as well, sounds like the warmest swimming pool out of all of the hotels. There are 2 saunas which a good too.

Yes, they do massages. For 1 hour it costs 39 lev. I didn't actually have one because it was all booked up so I advise you to book early!

Have a fab time, you will ...

Have a fab time, you will really enjoy it. I was told by an instructor that Feb is the best time for skiing because the snow conditions are excellent then!

re: Just back from Pamps

The Mourgavets and Perelik are actually linked via a walkway/shopping centre now so you don't even have to walk outside to get to BJs.

Lots of food is provided for breakfast. The closest you get to a full English is eggs and frankfurter sausages, which I loved. They also do cereal, toast, different cold meats and even cakes!!

Hot chocolates are the nicest at the hotel as well and there is quite a variety of food for dinner.

Everything is great!!
