At the moment, just 3. The 2 small drags on the Rila and yastrebets 2 although as above, it is good skiing on there today. It's quite cold today but again not enough for the snow cannons and the sun is shining... Saying that, the temps did drop at the beginning of the week and were supposed to go up a bit today until Friday and then drop again, followed by snow. Problem is, I can help with any upto-date info but I just wouldn't want to call on the forecast when it's people's holidays.. Just ...

If it was me I would still come as I would still manage to have a great holiday although that may be biased as I live here and it's easy for me to say that. If you have already paid then obviously yes, I would come. Also, if the forecasters are correct then snow is on it's way and you would feel gutted sat at home watching the webcams!! I would say go for it and if it's awful, you can always join the shuttle over to Bansko. You will also meet some great people!

HiI am there now, staying in Samokov Hotel, it is pretty sad here. Just not enough runs open etc. It is actaully warm here. There is most probably more snow back home
It is a shame for the people who have never skied before as they don't know any difference and are really fed up.

When I meant cold, I meant up the top as it's circa 1degrees and was 12 up there last week..!! Just hoping it will stay low and then get lower for the snow cannons for everyone.

Does anyone know what Balkan Holidays are doing for there punters in Borovets.....are they busing people to Bansko?

Hi KasThanks for your help. Can you tell me how far is Bansko. To open more runs how much snow would you need ? Any forecast over the weekend.

Bankso is about a 2 hour journey. everyone is getting back about 7.30 after leaving there at 5 because it's very busy. In terms of the snow, if the wind doesn't settle it will make no difference as it's just blowing it away. There's no basic covering on the slopes so I would say we need at least 50cm over but someone else may know better.re: Kas, hows Boro today?
Forgot to add...There is some snow predicted at the weekend (2nd / 3rd) and also for the temps to get a lot colder over the next week which at least means all the snow cannons will work, including those on the Rila side.re: Kas, hows Boro today?
But again, please don't hold me to that as weather forecasting is really not my thing! There's others on here who can help much more with that!

I'm coming over on the 9th got my fingers crossed as I'm bringing first timers and they'll kill me if there is no snow! That said, I'm really looking forward to it and know from experience that the majority of the people who pick Boro will have a great time no matter what. Thanks for all your help and advice - it must be really difficult to know what to say to people when there's more snow at home than in the ski resort they've booked!! I'm going to start a post on ...

Caz,Myself and Waterskikate are travelling out on the 9th and we too are getting twitchy!
Am sure there will be snow before then...which makes a change on our experiences last yr when they couldn't land our plane cos there was too much of the stuff!!!.....o and that was Jan 3rd!!!
