Hi Jackie,

We are going on 5th Feb with Airtours. They have arranged for our daughter, who is also six, to be able to use the ski school. We are staying at the Samokov and I think the ski school we will be using is also at the hotel.

re: Kids Ski School

We stayed at the Samokov last year - our daughter was 4 and a half - she went to the kindergarten there - they provide ski boots and skis for the kids in the kindergarten, they even went skiing several times and she liked it. You can bring your son at 9 am and take no later than 2 pm.
But actually the kids were rather small - 3, 4, 5 years, so after several days he might get bored.

re: Kids Ski School

Hi there, I was in Borovets 2 weeks ago and I confess on advice from my travel agent I lied about my 6 year old daughters age and said she was was seven so she could go to ski school with her 2 elder sisters. No one questioned her age and she throughly enjoyed it. The girls went to ski school from 10 am until 3pm and you will need to give your child money for lunch. If you need any more info than plesae email me Very Happy

Hi Tracy, we will go there this Thursday - pls tell more, we are staying in Rila and I hoped to send her to the kindergarten there , They say there are ski lessons there.

How much are the ski lessons? Also I am afraid that she will be afraid - she speaks only Russian.

re: Kids Ski School

Thanks Tracy

I think I should have done the same - i must admit I was tempted - still I can still think about enroling him as a 7 year old when he gets there! How did you find the resort for children - did you find it was noisy at night? We are staying at the Rila and I have heard that there is quite a lot of street noise.

re: Kids Ski School

Our daughter was only 6 last year. Do not be tempted to lie about their age in case you have an accident as you would not wish to invalidate your insurance.

We skiied in a family group. There were 3 families altogether and 2 6 year olds. If he has an older sibling then he could go in the kids ski school. My children weren't really up to that so they stayed with me. Being with other families was great and we all watched out for each other.

Just speak with your instructor when you are being allocated groups.

Hope this helps

Our kids had a great time with the Ski school and last year they had a professional skier as an instructor!!! She was lovely and everyday they were off doing blacks slopes while us adults spent most of the time in the bars! Booze
Their instructor was really friendly and they were up on the gondola and having a fantastic time. I'm sure your kid will ahve a great time and i expect he'll be allowed to be in ski school because when we went last year, there were loads of little kids there. Have ...

re: Kids Ski School

Hi Ellie

Thanks for your input - my partner and I have booked the learn to ski package - is it likely that the instructor will be agreeable to letting my son join in ?
