LUGGAGE - SKI BOOTS

Hi. This is the first time my wife and I have taken our own boots. Would anyone know if it is normal to pack the boots as luggage or take them on as hand luggage. Clearly the 20KG limit will be exceeded if we pack them!

You normally pack them but they can go in a separate boot bag. If you are taking skis you will pay for ski carriage and this will include boots over and above your luggage allowance. If not boots will be included in your weight limit but I have been skiing a long time and never known any problems.

i took my boots last year in normal luggage, they are uk16 and i had no problems.
i was also able to leave them at the ski centre each night and that was a bonus.

Boots ans ski are usually classes as seperate items and you should book carridge. They then get taken from you at a different check in point from where you confirm your flight. There is an extra cost (I think abot 16 quid) but there is no weight restriction so you can pack the bag to the limit.
