Could anyone tell me if you are better off taking all your cash in Levs, or should you have some in Sterling, and if so how much do you think a family of four, half board in a hotel will need in Pamps.
Thanks
I'm going tomorrow!!! and am taking the equivalent of £300 in levs (about 750 lev - there are 40 lev to the £1).
There are 3 of us, and while we may not need that much, it is only £100 each for a week for lunches and spending money. We also have to buy Bulgarian sim cards and credit so we can keep in contact on the mountain if need be.
you only need a few initailly. I usually change over there. Saves the hassle of going to get it changed here. Remember that 2.76 may be displayed by m&s but that may not take into consideration, their commission .
Its up to you but over the last two years in my experience, the rates were better out there. Better to bring stg with you, there have been occassions whereby certain atms may be broke/ empty and repair , refill doesnt happen instantly
I agree - definitely get a better rate over there so take sterling + just change what you need (+ saves hassle converting leva back if you take too much)
