Were coming back to Borovets again in February after having a fantastic time this year and was wondering where the best/cheapest place was for lift passes and ski hire?
Some of us only need the passes but others require the whole lot.
Somebody will disagree with me but in my opinion if you are on a package, book through the operator in advance as that from my experience is the cheapest. That's becuase they tend to offer the lift pass at a discount.
That said I have done all my own bookings this year and am renting a couple of apartments and have yet to see any prices for equipment/lift pass for 2012..
Thanks for the reply, we have booked flights and accomodation independently so no tour op to go through.
I already have some prices but just seeing if i can get a bettter deal.Link attached
Great to hear you are coming back!! 37 here at the moment, so hopefully a great summer, will mean a great winter!!
There are better deals to be had in the resort than on the link above especially at the moment. Click on my name and send me an email and I will let you know the prices and/or discounts that the ski schools are currently offering in the resort.

We are over on 9th feb to 16th, flights booked. Looking forward to more Target grub. Any new places open thet you reccommend in Samokov?
Thanks for all the updates etc.
We like the food at the K Bar (run by Ken - english guy). He only has a very very basic menu with just 3 or 4 things every day, but the Jamacian Jerk Chicken is absolutely gorgeous - we are going to buy jars of the sauce from him so we can serve it in the restaurant in Borovets. The K Bar (if you have not been there) is really near the centre - opposite the museum - ie: police station on one side, K Bar on the other. Apart from that, we still loev the food in Target and ...
Hi Tateyheed,
We like the food at the K Bar (run by Ken - english guy). Apart from that, we still loev the food in Target and whereas before it depended on the chef, now it is really unusual not to get an excellent meal. They also do a lunchtime special - I think it finishes as 5pm, but basically it is 6lev for 3 courses and is excellent - there are about 10 different menu options and I'd really recommend it.
For a pizza, our favourite is now the pizza place in Samokovo which we think now serves better pizzas than Bonitas or Cinema but that's just our preference. It is more used by locals than say Bonitas but is cheaper and I think better quality.
Funny you should mention about the chef at Target, our last meal there in Feb was a let down, we had ate there most of the week too. Will go back there though. We have just booked a cheeky flight over in Nov, so will take a look at K bar then. When you get a chance any info on prices etc for forthcoming season would be great. will ask you later where the pizza place is and a couple of other things if you don't mind. Will email soon.
