couldn't tell you mate never wore snow board boots, you say they touch the front, do they hurt? if they hurt walking round the house they will probably kill on the slopes unless they need breaking in or something...
I know ski gear is not supposed to be loose ski boots are always quite tight...
try them with your ski socks on an that see how they feel...
Benn , correct fitment of a snowboard boot is as follows :
When you put your foot in bang the heel down a few times to make sure your mheel is firmly in the back of your boot , tighten inner laces , tighten outer laces .
Stand up , stand in your normal stance position , toes should just rub front off boot ..
If any tingling or numbness after a short time loosen inner laces very slightly , make sure you dont over tighten bindings either as this too causes numbness , via causing loss ...

if you have worn these boots before and they are comfy, take them with you, hire boots are a nightmare and usually not cleaned properly before being hired out again. Although my advice is leave them at home and hire ski boots and do the right thing, you know you should.
